Mrs. Ellen Landskroener grew up in Lansing, Michigan, where she attended Lutheran elementary and high school. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a teacher and eventually attended Concordia in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she received her Lutheran Teaching Diploma. Two years later, she attended Michigan State where she received her Master’s Degree.
She has taught for over 10 years in four different Lutheran schools, including many different grades and subjects, but her absolute favorite is art. She loves encouraging students to express themselves and be creative through their art work. Art is also considered a wonderful opportunity to teach and discuss the faith and God’s incredible love and grace shown to us.
When not teaching, she loves to spend time with her husband Jim and their four children- Abigail, Noah, Elisabeth, and Ben. She enjoys perennial gardening, sewing, knitting, reading, and traveling. Another hobby of hers is teaching piano lessons which she has done for 26 years. She has lived in Toledo since 2012.
Ellen’s favorite verse is her confirmation verse, “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
